Bye Bye Summer Stress August 02 2017
Ah, stress. We’re all familiar with it. The heart palpitations, sweaty palms, trembling lips, and gritting teeth. In our younger days, we might’ve thought that Summer would bring with it relief from all stress. “No more pencils, no more books,” and all that. Now that we’re older, we know that’s not the case. Summer has its own stresses from wedding season galore (“What gift should I get?!”) to trying to keep up with work deadlines when the beach is calling.
Stress isn’t something that should go unaddressed. Debilitating, anxiety-inducing, and generally awful, persistent stress can hurt your morale, productivity, and health. Chronic stress is linked to depression, heart disease, weight gain, and memory loss [i]. Plus, long-term stress can even throw your immune system out of balance, reducing your ability to ward off infections and illnesses [i]. No Bueno.
It seems these days, everyone is stressed out (Twenty One Pilots will back me up on this one) and we at Scrub Inspired are no strangers to stress, either. That is why we have created a line of products that are absolutely perfect for getting back your chill.
// Lavender Vanilla //
Stressful Mondays are no match for our Lavender Vanilla scrub. The hypnotizing scent of this tried and true scrub will leave you in a state of Zen. With fine dead sea salt, grapeseed oil, vanilla extract, and lavender essential oil, this scrub is perfectly catered to combat stress. Use this classic scrub on your chest, wrists, body, and feet and allow your worries to melt away. Aroma-therapy, indeed!
// Coconut Almond //
Stressed is just desserts spelled backwards. And our Coconut Almond scrub is the most decadent dessert you can find – guilt free! Treat yourself with this tropical scrub; it’s the gentlest in our line, perfect for even the most sensitive skin types. Simply massage the product into the skin while you’re in the bath: the soft brown sugar exfoliates the skin while dissolving into a delightful sugary soak around you! Indulge in this delicious scrub – you deserve it!
// Relax Sea Bath //
You’re not you when you’re stressed out. Take time to Relax with our sea salt bath. This perfectly blended mixture of lavender, jasmine, and chamomile essential oils is designed to release tension, relax your body and mind, and restore your equilibrium. Combat stress in the most luxurious way possible! Hakuna Matata.

Get the Full Benefits of Tea Tree Oil March 21 2017
Tea tree oil can be summed up quite simply: the anti-hero. Anti-inflammatory. Antiseptic. Anti-microbial. Anti-bacterial. Anti-fungal. It’s the perfect anti-dote to many of your skin woes.
This was the inspiration behind our Lemon and Tea Tree sea salt body scrub. Our scrub can be used on your scalp, body, nails, and feet to treat a myriad of skin issues. Here are the incredible benefits:
Don’t be Flaky
|Is it snowing indoors? Nope. That’s just some good ol’ dandruff. Having a chronic scalp condition like dandruff can be annoying, frustrating, and generally embarrassing. Never fear: tea tree oil is here! Its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties effectively stop the over production of skin cells that lead to dandruff [i]. Plus, a few drops go a long way to unclog hair follicles and remove excess sebum [i]. So go ahead girl – don’t be afraid to put on that little black dress!|
Salon Style Treatment
Getting a luxurious nail treatment is seriously therapeutic. If you don’t believe me, then you clearly haven’t watched Legally Blonde (you should really get on that, by the way). But, as with many of the finer things in life, mani/pedis can seriously put a dent in your wallet. And leaving your feet untreated for too long can lead to unhealthy and embarrassing conditions. Thankfully, you can always DIY! Incorporate tea tree oil in your at-home spa day for healthy, polished nails and feet. Tea tree oil is a powerful antiseptic and anti-fungal treatment that can kill nail fungi, treat athlete’s foot, eliminate foot odour, and soften cuticles [ii]. Never feel embarrassed of your feet again – if the shoe fits, wear it!
Get Silky Smooth
You won’t be feeling like anyone’s Venus, fire, or desire if you’ve got unsightly razor burn after shaving. Ingrown hairs and red bumps are neither cute nor comfortable so quite simply: they’ve got to go. Tea tree oil’s anti-inflammatory properties soothe soreness and irritation to put you at ease [iii]. Plus, this powerful antiseptic prevents infection and speeds healing time to remedy the bumps [iii]. Get a silky-smooth shave every time!
Dermatologist in a Bottle
Itchy, agitated skin? No thanks. Sometimes, skin just loves to freak out for no good reason. When that happens, tea tree oil is there to calm it down. Whether you’ve got a condition like eczema or psoriasis, or just dry skin in general (it is winter, after all), tea tree oil is the perfect fix. Soothe, moisturize, and cleanse your skin all at once.
Our energizing and cleansing Lemon and Tea Tree scrub is the perfect way to relax and regenerate the skin. Alert your senses and relieve any muscle aches and pains with this light and bright adventure for your body and mind!
Reap all the benefits of tea tree oil when you shop Scrub Inspired – you won’t be able to get enough!
Treat Your Skin Right This Winter February 27 2017
I used to think people who loved winter were a myth, like unicorns or centaurs or some other equally crazy creature. Well, apparently – they’re real. I think it’s weird and deranged, but who am I to judge?
I’m sure you winter lovers out there are shaking your fists at the screen. Winter is awesome! I bet you’re thinking. You can skate, ski, snowshoe, and have all kinds of frigid fun. Let’s just agree to disagree. Because even if you love winter, your skin doesn't.
And if you’re not a winter lover (what I like to call a “normal person”) don’t think for a second that your skin is spared. Indoor heating seriously dries out the skin. So, even if you’re curled up at home under a mountain of blankets, your skin is still suffering.
Here are some winter skincare tips to keep your complexion dewy, plump, and healthy when the weather outside is frightful.
Pull Out The Gloves
Defy the Dry: Humidify!
Indoor heating systems (using oil, wood, or electricity) parch the skin [i]. Humidifiers put moisture back into the air, which stops your skin from getting itchy, flaky, or dehydrated. The benefits don’t stop there: humidifiers are also helpful for treating dry lips (smooch away!), stuffy sinuses, and scratchy throats. This simple change will make your toasty nights in much more comfortable – and better for your skin!
Sleep in Style
I’m sure you’ve all heard it before: sleep is very important for your skin (gotta get your full eight hours, folks!). While that’s true, you might not realize that what you sleep in is also very important for the health and beauty of your skin. Look for sheets and sleepwear in natural fibres like cotton, silk (ooh, fancy!), linen, and cashmere [ii].
Pro-tip: Avoid blends of cotton and synthetic fibres as they can be abrasive and irritating for the skin [iii].
Then, snuggle up and recharge!

Why Mint Should Be Part of Your Skincare Routine January 24 2017
Okay, so last night you were up late binge-watching The Walking Dead and this morning you look like you could single-handedly destroy the world in a zombie apocalypse. We’ve all been there before. Luckily, there’s an effective, natural ingredient that can help you look and feel more rejuvenated and awake: simply, mint!
Mint is an incredibly versatile and potent ingredient that provides a plethora of skin and health benefits. Seriously, this stuff is the MVP of the plant family.
Here are some of the amazing benefits:
Rise and Shine
|Tired of looking tired? Applying mint on the area directly beneath your eyes can reduce puffiness and discolouration making you look energized, awake, and ready to take on the day. Buh-bye bags! But mint doesn’t just make you look more awake – it makes you feel more awake, too! The invigorating scent of mint is proven to increase alertness, focus, attention span, and memory, making it the perfect way to start your morning right [i].|
Acne’s Natural Nemesis
Acne sufferers out there can attest that having bad skin is a special kind of torment. But mint is ready to save the day! Naturally rich in salicylic acid (a key ingredient in many topical acne treatments), mint is effective in treating inflammation, discolouration, oiliness, and other fun acne perks [ii]. Its anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties can help relieve redness, irritation, and swelling to leave your skin looking calm and clear. Mint: 1, Acne: 0
Paging Dr. Mint
Down with a cold or the flu? Mint.
Apart from its beauty properties, mint is also effective at treating and healing an array of pesky ailments. If you’re feeling congested, suffering from a headache, or experiencing digestive discomfort, applying mint topically - that's right, topically! - to the affected areas can really help.
We at Scrub Inspired are personal fans of mint and you can see why. That's why we have incorporated this incredible ingredient in two different body scrubs that can be used from your face to your feet.
If you're looking for a pick-me-up, Citrus Mint is your perfect match. The scrub delicately blends orange and chamomile together, two ingredients that, when combined, are known to lift your mood and give you back your vivacious spirit. Va Va Voom!
For the Winter lovers out there, you'll adore Simply Mint, our winter seasonal scrub. Luxuriate in a cozy night in with this spearmint-rich scrub to relax, quiet your mind, and decompress.
Shop Scrub Inspired to reap the beauty and health benefits of mint! Your body will thank you!
